What is book value and market value?
Book Value is the value of an asset as shown on the Balance Sheet. It is based on historical cost (or purchase price) and accumulated depreciation. Market value of an asset is as quoted in the market, which basically depends on the supply & demand of the asset and the negotiations between buyers & sellers.
