LUMS - TPI's CourtBeat Wins Award at PASHA ICT Awards 2013

According to a notification, issued by the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS), the Technology for People Initiative (TPI) won second place in the e-Governance category for its project "CourtBeat" at the 10th P@SHA ICT Awards. The P@SHA ICT Awards honors both companies at the cutting edge of technology innovation, as well as leading professionals across the ICT industry. Most importantly, the P@SHA ICT Awards recognize the achievements of home-grown Pakistani innovators.

The ceremony was held at the Serena Hotel in Islamabad on September 21, 2013 and was attended by professionals and students from all across Pakistan. The theme for this year was “Innovation is the Catalyst for Growth”. The event commenced with an opening address from Ms. Jehan Ara, the president of P@SHA who described the motivation behind the awards and her thoughts on this year's entries.

The judges in Lahore, Karachi and Islamabad deliberated over presentations and documents for weeks to finalise the 40 entries that were declared as the best innovators in the 17 product and 15 services categories of the P@SHA ICT Awards. Judges present at the awards praised the work being done in the industry and congratulated the winning teams. Ms. Jehan Ara lauded the efforts of TPI and CourtBeat was deemed a "very useful tool". TPI team members Amn Rahman, Umer Naeem and Habiba Malik were present at the ceremony to collect the award.
