HEC Tenure Track System (TTS) Assistant Professor

According to the Model Tenure Track Process document, issued by the Higher Education Commission (HEC), to be appointed as an Assistant Professor on Tenure Track, the candidate is required to have a Ph.D/Relevant terminal qualification from a recognized institution and excellent written communication skills as well as excellent presentation skills. An Assistant Professor should be demonstrably competent in the subject matter area of courses taught and should have indicated a serious commitment to teaching, but it need not be expected that an extensive reputation in the field has been acquired. As the Assistant Professor continues in this rank an effort to increase knowledge and improve teaching ability should he demonstrated, and professional presentation should be made through papers to professional organizations, through publications, or through other creative work.

Following are the Minimum Eligibility Conditions for Faculty Appointment (Assistant Professor) under TTS, mentioned in the TTS performa:

Qualification: PhD Degree/ Terminal Qualification in the relevant field (from an HEC recognized Institution).

Note: For PhD degree holders from Pakistan the Registrar must certify that the PhD thesis was evaluated by two foreign Experts as per HEC guidelines for award of PhD degree, in case foreign evaluation was not done then the candidate must provide evidence of two publications in Journals recognized by the HEC for the purpose of Tenure Track appointment.
